Relational Intelligence for Hospital Development Leaders

Program type: Cohort Coaching

Strengthening Leadership Through Relational Intelligence

Technical expertise may open the door to leadership opportunities, but relational intelligence is often what determines a leader's long-term effectiveness. In hospital development, leaders are tasked not only with achieving outcomes but also with building trust, navigating difficult conversations, supporting frontline staff, and fostering a culture where teams can thrive.

This interactive cohort session, Relational Intelligence for Hospital Development Leaders: Strengthening Leadership Through Connecting & Respecting, is designed specifically for Hospital Development leaders who oversee frontline teams and want to strengthen the relationships that drive performance, accountability, and collaboration. Drawing from DeGarmo's research on the 8 Great Traits of High-Performing Leaders, participants will explore the Interpersonal Style pillar through two essential leadership behaviors: Connecting and Respecting.

Strong leadership is built through meaningful relationships. Leaders who effectively engage their teams, communicate with intention, listen to diverse perspectives, and demonstrate respect create environments where people feel valued and empowered to succeed. Yet many leadership challenges stem not from a lack of technical knowledge, but from difficulties in communication, trust-building, coaching, and accountability. This session provides practical strategies to address those challenges and strengthen leadership effectiveness.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn alongside peers from across the industry while examining how relational intelligence influences culture, team dynamics, and organizational success. Through discussion, reflection, and application, leaders will gain actionable insights they can immediately bring back to their organizations.
